We are raising money to give back to the amazing staff, surgeons and hospital that gave us the absolute best care and treatment for our daughter, Emberlyn. We cannot thank OSF Childrens Hospital of Illinois enough so we are hoping to raise money to give back to them to continue the amazing care to all other children and families with congenital heart defects.
Emberlyn Grace was diagnosed in utero with Turners Syndrome. Emberlyn is missing her second X chromosome. Turners syndrome can lead to heart defects. Emberlyn was placed in the NICU where she was confirmed to have a coaractation of her aorta. This is when there is a narrowing of her aorta, which is the largest blood vessel of your heart that supplies blood to the rest of your body. Emberlyn went into surgery at just 8 days old to repair her aorta. They did a Aortic Thoracotomy. Emberlyn was placed on a vent twice and spent a month in NICU/PICU. She had a full recovery and was sent home. We want to thank Dr Plunkett for the successful surgery and care for our daughter. We’re hoping to raise money to give back to the most amazing hospital and CHD awareness.
