I’m excited to raise money and awareness for a cause that has become personal for my family. Most of our close family and friends know our story but for those of you who haven’t our son, Maverick, was born with 3 holes in his heart. When he was 11 months old, he had his PDA, ASD, and VSD repaired. He spent several days at the OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois. He was stuck in a hospital bed, nurses, medicines, tests were the norm for him everyday for a while. Since his open heart surgery, he’s had two cardiac catheterizations, perfusion scans, many pokes, EKGs, & echocardiograms. His strength and bravery amazes me everyday. Nonetheless, this has been a life changing experience. We are making it our mission to raise awareness and money for children living their lives with congenital heart defects. We’re asking our family & friends to consider pledging and/or participating in the Cardiac Heart Disease (CHD) Walk, on September 6th, 2020 at Kellar Station. Please join Team Maverick!
